The Companies and Intellectual Property Authority hosted the African Regional Intellectual Property Organisation at the 47th Session of the Administrative Council, together with the 19th Session of the Council of Ministers.
His Excellency President Masisi delivered the keynote speech on the importance of intellectual property in Africa to the twenty-two member states of ARIPO. Stating Botswana’s vision to become a high-income country anchored on a knowledge based economy by 2036, and reiterating that IP is vital to this vision.
DLG’s IP department was in attendance to support and extend congratulations to the Republic of Botswana and to Caretaker and CEO of CIPA, Mr. Joel Ramaphoi, for acceding to the election of Chairmanship of ARIPO.
