Thembalami Mncube, a student studying Broadcasting and Journalism at Limkokwing University of Creative Technology attended the Global Goals Model United Nations 3.0 Programme which was held on the 4th till 7th of October 2019 in Nakhom Nayok Thailand.
This is a programme that is developped by NGO’s together with help of sponsors such as the One World Alliance. Amongst this programme are advocates for change to help students who wish to pursue something meaningful in their communities on behalf of the Sustainable Development Goals which were set by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015 for the year 2030.
DLG was delighted to sponsor Ms Mncube on the programme which she says helped her to learn how to present in front of different nations and use the experience to equip her with knowledge of setting up resolutions that could create change. One of the solutions were Clean Water and Sanitation in Botswana where according to the research Ms Mncube gathered, Botswana has not more than four agencies that focus on Clean Water and Sanitation, which is something that can definitely be improved especially if the country was to be caught up in serious water scarcity.
Ms Mncube further stated that “Global Goals Model United Nations Programme helped me a lot especially with my future endeavours of being part of the UN on behalf of the people. The program taught me different cultural backgrounds as well and I’m forever grateful for the knowledge and experience. All thanks to The Desai Law Group”
