Thuto, who is sponsored by DLG, recently attended the 2018 fide world cadet chess championships that were held in Santiago de compostella, Spain. The tournament commenced on the 3rd of November to the 16th November 2018. Thuto made his parents, DLG and Botswana proud when he was rated number one in Africa at the tournament. He was given a trophy, certificate and a gold medal. During the tournament he played 11 games and was ranked in the top 50 of 250 players in his category.
