Malwelwe Std 5 Trip to Gaborone

Our very own DLG employees volunteered to help Operation Starfish with their annual  Std 5 Trip to Gaborone over the 24th, 25th and 26th of June. The purpose of this annual trip is to expose the children in the village to alternative professions and experiences and in so doing, emphasise the potential value of education to their lives. Our Hospitality coordinator Limani, our driver Modise, our photographer Deepali spent the weekend cooking, delivering, serving and photographing the events that the 66 students experienced over the weekend. DLG would like to share their strive to do good for others and show our pride and appreciation.

Limani and Modise serving the children at Itumeleng Primary School where they were accommodated for the weekend.

The children at Sir Seretse Khama International Airport watching in awe as they not only saw aeroplanes for the first time but learnt that Botswana has TWO female Pilots!

Playing basketball at Maru-A-Pula Secondary School.

Being surprised with balloons at Adega Restaurant at Airport Junction. The children had never played with balloons before and were fascinated by them!

Their first 3D movie! They watched Cars 3 at New Capitol Cinemas at Riverwalk Mall. They all chanted ‘Lightning McQueen!’ at the end!

Our volunteers read with them at Exclusive Books.

On behalf of Desai Law Group and Operation Starfish, we would like to give our sincere thanks to Itumeleng Primary School, Maru-A-Pula, Sir Seretse Khama Airport, Gaborone Game Reserve, Square Mart, Adega Restaurant, 3 chiefs Monument, Exclusive Books and AT&T for their support, donations and co-operation through this trip.
